Fishing Ton is a dock you share with other players. Tap or click and hold, then release, to cast. When a fish bites, tap again to set the hook. A bite is not always a fish. A tire or a ghost tug can take the line too.
Reeling is the part that loses fish. A green zone appears, and the hook has to stay inside it until the bar fills. Hold to move the hook right. Release and it drifts left. Slip out of the green and that catch is gone. Land a big one and you get experience, which is how the level on your name climbs.
The money comes from selling. Walk the catch to the shop, sell it for coins, and spend those coins on a better rod and on bait. A stronger rod is what reaches the fish that pay more. Quests are posted at the stall when you want a set catch instead of casting at random.

Bring the fish to the shop and sell them for coins. Spend the coins on a better rod and on bait. The rod is what changes which fish you can reach.
The green zone is the whole catch
The cast is the easy part. Hold long enough to reach the water you want, then let go. The bite is a tap. After that, the hook slides. Hold and it goes right. Let go and it comes back left. The green band is the only place the fish stays on.
Watch the bar, not the splash. If you hold too long, the hook walks out of the green on the right. If you release too long, it walks out on the left. Stay in it until the bar fills and the fish is yours. Small fish, big fish, and the odd piece of junk all use that same reel.
Sell the catch, then upgrade the rod
Experience raises the level. Coins are separate, and they come from the shop counter. Sell what you landed, then buy the next rod and more bait. Skip the shop and the rod stays weak, so the better fish stay out of reach.
