Eat fish before the energy runs out

Hungry Whale, cover image

Hungry Whale is a swim that lasts as long as the whale stays fed. Steer it through the water and eat the fish in the way. Each meal holds the energy bar up.

The bar drains while you are just swimming. Leave the fish alone and it falls. Eat them and it holds. The clock is how long that swim has lasted, and it keeps running until the bar is empty.

Stay on the fish. A stretch of empty water spends energy and adds nothing to the time. The longer the whale stays fed, the longer the clock runs.

How to Play Hungry Whale

1
Hungry Whale, swimming after fish while the energy bar drains

Eat fish to hold the bar

Steer the whale into fish. Eating is what keeps the energy up. The bar falls on its own whenever you are only swimming.

2
Hungry Whale, energy still dropping while the swim continues

Last until the bar is empty

The clock is the score. It runs while the whale still has energy. When the bar is gone, the swim is over, so keep eating.

Turn toward the next fish

Empty water is the expensive part of the swim. The bar is falling the whole time, and a fish is the only thing that puts energy back. Point the whale at the next one you can reach instead of cruising a clear patch.

A short gap between meals is fine. A long one is how the bar dies. If two fish are close, take both before you commit to a far swim.

The clock is the whole reward

The swim pays you in time. Stay fed and the clock keeps climbing. Drop the bar to empty and that time stops.

The fish is food for the bar, right then. Eat on the way, and keep the whale moving toward the next meal.
